# Set the Output Destination for a File Workflow

Choose where a workflow reading CSV or XSD files from storage writes its results.

## Overview

A workflow that reads CSV or XSD files from an S3-compatible storage data source now asks you to pick an output data source, the same way a database workflow does. Results no longer go back to the input location by default, and a workflow without a destination cannot be saved.

This applies to workflows connected to storage, where you select an S3-compatible data source with an endpoint, bucket, and credentials. A workflow built from a directly uploaded file still shows a download notice instead of an output picker.

## Prerequisites

- A CSV or XSD workflow whose input is an S3-compatible storage data source (not a direct file upload).
- An output data source with **Read & Write** access already configured in the project, or permission to create one.

## Steps

1. Start creating a new workflow for a CSV or XSD source connected to storage.
2. Go to the **Connect** step.
3. Select the input data source.
4. Select an output data source for the results.
5. Continue through the wizard and create the workflow.

To change the destination later:

1. Open the workflow.
2. Open workflow settings.
3. Select a different output data source.
4. Save the configuration.

## Confirm success

The workflow saves only when an output data source is set - if you leave the destination empty, saving is blocked until you pick one. After a run, results appear at the output data source you selected, not automatically at the input location.
