JDBC URL Examples
Use these formats in the JDBC URL field when you connect a data source. Replace the parts in angle brackets with your own values.
JDBC URL quick reference
Find your data source, copy the example and replace the host, port and names with your own. Each row links to the full format and the vendor’s documentation.

PostgreSQL
jdbc:postgresql://<host>:<port>/<database>
Example:
jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/postgres
See the PostgreSQL JDBC documentation.
SQL Server
jdbc:sqlserver://<host>:<port>[;<property>=<value>]
Example, connecting to the master database without encryption:
jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;encrypt=false;databaseName=master
See the SQL Server JDBC documentation.
MySQL
jdbc:mysql://<host>:<port>[/<database>][?properties]
Example:
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/sakila
LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE needs the MySQL server (or managed instance) to allow local infile operations (local_infile=1). The platform turns on the JDBC-side property when USE_FILE_BATCH_INSERT is set, but the server configuration must permit it.
|
See the MySQL Connector/J documentation.
Oracle
The URL format depends on how you connect.
Service Name Connection
jdbc:oracle:thin:@//<host>:<port>/<serviceName>
Example:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@//localhost:1521/DB
TNS URL Format
You can put a tnsnames.ora entry in the URL:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=<host>)(PORT=<port>))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=<service>)))
Example:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=DB)))
See the Oracle JDBC documentation.
Db2
Type 4 connectivity:
jdbc:db2://<host>:<port>/<database>
Example:
jdbc:db2://localhost:50000/testdb
See the Db2 JDBC documentation.
SQLite
jdbc:sqlite:<path_to_sqlite_file>
Example, with an absolute path to the database file test.db:
jdbc:sqlite:/var/data/test.db
See this SQLite JDBC guide.
SAP HANA
jdbc:sap://<host>:<port>/?databaseName=<tenant>
Example:
jdbc:sap://saphana.example.com:39015/?databaseName=TENANT01
For SAP workflows, see SAP HANA connection.
Snowflake
jdbc:snowflake://<account_identifier>.snowflakecomputing.com/?db=<database>&warehouse=<warehouse>&schema=<schema>
Example:
jdbc:snowflake://xy12345.eu-central-1.snowflakecomputing.com/?db=MYDB&warehouse=TDK_WAREHOUSE&schema=PUBLIC&role=TDK_ROLE
| Use your Snowflake programmatic access token (API token) as the password of the data source. |
See the Snowflake JDBC documentation.
CSV File
CSV files are read from and written to S3-compatible storage. The location is the folder that holds the files:
s3://<file storage>:<port>/<bucket>/<directory>
Example:
s3://s3.amazonaws.com/my-bucket/my-input-dir/
In the Quick Start demo, local S3-compatible storage comes from the Versity gateway, which is off by default. Start it with COMPOSE_PROFILES=versity ./start.sh. Inside the Compose network its endpoint is http://versity:7070, so <file storage>:<port> is versity:7070. From your machine, it’s at http://localhost:10000.
|
See CSV support.
XML/XSD File
The location is the XSD schema file in S3-compatible storage:
xml:s3://<file storage>:<port>/<bucket>/<directory>/<file.xsd>
Example:
xml:s3://s3.amazonaws.com/my-bucket/my-input-dir/CCR001.xsd
See generating XML files.
