License
Your license key unlocks the platform’s features. You can set it when you install Governor, in SYNTHESIZED_KEY, or upload it in Governor afterwards. The key is checked offline: Governor doesn’t need internet access for it. Without a key, Governor runs in free mode.
Contact Synthesized to get a license key.
Set the key at installation
Set SYNTHESIZED_KEY on Governor’s API container:
-
Docker Compose: on the
backendservice. See Docker Compose. -
Helm: in
api.container.secretConfig.SYNTHESIZED_KEY. See Kubernetes and OpenShift.
For the TDK CLI, see TDK CLI License Key.
Upload the key in Governor
Administrators manage the license in Governor.
-
Click Upload License.
-
Choose your license file, or paste the license key into the text box.
-
Click Upload.
Governor checks the license. If it’s valid, you see a success message and the license details. If it isn’t, you see an error and can upload another.
Check the license
Once a license is active, Governor shows:
| Detail | What it shows |
|---|---|
License Status |
Whether the license is active. |
License Expiration |
The date the license expires, and the days remaining. |
Owner Email |
The email address of the license owner. |
License Fingerprint Hash |
The license’s fingerprint. |
Allowed Feature IDs |
The features the license allows. |
Renew the license before it expires.
Replace or delete the license
-
Upload a new license to replace the current one. Governor checks it in the same way.
-
Delete License removes the license, and Governor runs in free mode.
Free mode
Without a license, Governor runs in free mode:
-
Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, Snowflake, SAP (SAP HANA, S/4HANA and OData V2) and CSV data sources are blocked.
-
PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB data sources are limited to 20 tables and 100,000 rows per table.
A data source that free mode blocks shows as "not supported in the free version".
Buying through a cloud marketplace
When you buy through the AWS or Google Cloud marketplace, the license comes from your cloud account. Those licensing settings contact the cloud’s license service. See Application Properties.
